Illuminated Forest

by admin / Art

The Illuminated Forest is an imaginary environment featuring a multi-media installation and performance space that reacts to human presence. The exhibit explores the human impact on our environment through video projections, composed sounds, 16 foot live tree sculptures and sensors measuring human distance, movement and noise levels that activate sound and visuals in the environment. To complete this imaginary environment, Alan co-curated environmental works found in little eddies and surprises in and around the interactive exhibit and live performances by local and international artists and musicians occurred in the space exploring environmental ideas. The Illuminated Forest installation was conceived by Alan So and developed in collaboration with artists Jorge Bachmann, Agnes Szelag and Ben Bracken with participation by Jessica Resmond for Green Sound: Soundwave Festival’s fourth season.
